My dermat had prescribed me different cream for pigmentation. I don't think tret is effective on pigmentation.

I have used alot creams like biluma but I feel a good skincare helps me more than applying a single cream that a derm prescribes

PriyaSR26

Yes. I think you would need a different routine/products for pigmentation. Tret doesn't do anything for pigmentation.

Creative_Agency5841

Vitamin c helps me but it disturbs my skin barrier

PriyaSR26

Okay, so my dermat had suggested that I do spot treatments with kojic acid cream and stop as soon as I'm satisfied with the results. I had lot of PIH from acne. I stopped exactly after 1 month. She told me not to apply tret with kojic acid cream. And since I didn't have any active acne, just marks, I applied kojic acid cream every night for 1 month, stopped tret and my spots went away. So yeah, you can try that too. Me back then was a skincare noob, but a makeup expert, and I trusted my dermat's words like the bible or geeta. And I was very happy with the results.

Creative_Agency5841

Which kojic acid cream? I have tried kojivit cream, biluma cream etc

PriyaSR26

No clue! I think it was in a pump bottle. It was many years ago. I don't think I even have the prescriptions. If nothing is working for you, do try a dermatologist.

Dermatologist in my city aren't really good... When I had skin barrier issue and my skin was completely red...one derm recommended me dove soap and a moisturiser which had fragrance... I think I should research myself about a good product

PriyaSR26

Try online then. Or read reviews before going.☹️

Creative_Agency5841

Yup

Breakouts reduced??

Creative_Agency5841

I usually don't get breakouts.. I get small acnes and after using it older one went away and new one came faster

Uchihahahahahaha

Completed three months on tret, I see Zero difference on my skin. No glow either ☹️

Creative_Agency5841

That's sad🙁 I started using it along with vitamin c at first and I saw my skin became a little bouncy than I applied some weird home remedy and my skin barrier got weak...after that right now I use tretinoin only once a week and other days I am using niacinamide... Earlier I used to use it every alternate day and I saw my skin getting soft and glowing but I was lazy with sunscreen and got tanned😣

Uchihahahahahaha

☹️ I've built it up to use everyday. I experienced no irritation, no purging, not even minor sensitivity. In fact, Aziderm sensitized me more than Tret :'(

Creative_Agency5841

Yes same aziderm reacts on me too... Tretinoin only gives me alot of dryness around cheeks no irritation other than that.. only if I go out without applying sunscreen I see irritation on my skin

Hugh_Ja_ss

Using tret only once a week is going to delay the effects. If your skin can tolerate it now, start using it more often on weekly basis. Derms usually suggest using daily but that's too much so only 2-3 times per week should suffice. For pigmentation, you can add products with Alpha Arbutin, Niacinamide, Kojic acid, licorice roots extract etc. to help tret fasten the process. But using sunscreen everyday is really important to get rid of pigmentation. Not just higher SPF one but one with good PPD/UVAPF ratings and photostable filters. I've personally seen how fast my acne marks reduce with using good sunscreen everyday. Since tret increases the cell turnover rate, these extra things help it to get rid of problematic issues in our skin.

Creative_Agency5841

Ok I think I should use it today in night... Sunscreen is a task for me ....reequil sunscreen works great but it's expensive

Hugh_Ja_ss

Try other affordable options then. The Blessing Tree etc. Whether indoors or outdoors, make sunscreen a must product. It really makes a difference! Goodluck!

Creative_Agency5841

Yes blessing tree, fixderma, joy etc are already in my list 😊
